This 4 day & 3 nights Cairns Diving Liveaboard expedition to the Northern section of the Cairns Great Barrier Reef takes the visitors via a 22 metre steel hulled catamaran which has been designed for comfort, easy diving and long expeditions. This catamaran has twin, double and quad sharing air conditioned cabins with private facilities. It also has entertainment centre with TV, video library, large salon and spacious sundeck. A variety of meals is provided to guests breakfasts, in-between dives snacks, buffet lunch and sit down dinner.

The Northern section of the Cairns Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland, Australia has amazing coral reefs which are veritable natural treasures. They are home to a wide array of marine and bird life.

In this Cairns Scuba Liveaboard trip, the visitors are taken to the Ribbon reefs and the world famous Cod Hole. The tour is organized in such a manner that there are no long motoring between dives and more time is spent on dives. The Ribbon Reefs have pristine coral garden with over 250 species. Over 1000 types of fish and 4000 types of invertebrates are thriving in this remote place. In addition the coral cays are home to over 215 types of sea birds and nesting place for 5 of the world's 7 species of sea turtles. The Cod Hole shelters the huge Potato Cod family, which weigh between 25 to 60 Kg each and is a protected species. There are 10 to 20 metre deep diving sites here.

The entire region is a diver's paradise with depths ranging from a few metres to 40 metres. Being on the fringes of the Australian Coral Sea, the visibility is generally better than average. The journey begins on alternate Saturdays at 1.30 PM in Cairns and ends at 3.00 PM on alternate Tuesdays in Cooktown. The return trip from Cooktown to Cairns is via 40 minutes light aircraft flight.

The Cairns Scuba Diving Liveaboard trip would be a lifelong memorable experience for divers. The trip includes up to 12 dives and 2 diving days including night dives. The exact itinerary and number of dives are subject to weather and tidal considerations which can be adverse at times. Some of the diving sites are the Cod Hole, Lighthouse and Challenger Bay, Steve's Bommie, Joanies and Taks drift. The diving deck is provided with individual gear lockers, camera table, 240v charging station, air filling station, tank racks, emergency medical supplies, satellite phone etc. All diving equipment like dive computers, dive lights, underwater photographic equipment, regulators etc are available for rent on board. Divers are expected to be certified by major certified agency.

The tour package includes non alcoholic beverages, 3 meals and snacks per day and return flight from Cooktown to Cairns, and does not include diving gear like computer, camera etc., alcoholic beverages, and diving instructions / coaching. Complimentary return coach transfers to hotel accommodation in Cairns are available.

People who have asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, heart issues or some other medical conditions may not be allowed to dive.
