General Conditions

INSURANCE EXCESS The vehicle does come with an insurance cover, however in the unlikely event of an accident an insurance excess is payable by the hirer. For this vehicle there is a collision excess of $5000 for accidents with another vehicle and $5000 for a single vehicle accident. This is reducible by paying an extra $37.00 a day which reduces the $5000 down to $2000 for accidents with another vehicle and reduces the $5000 down to $3500 for a single vehicle accident. A security bond will be "frozen" on your credit card for the amount of $3000 if the extra $37.00 is not paid and $1000 if the extra $37.00 is paid. When the vehicle is returned to the depot in the same condition as it left your security bond will be "unfrozen".

VEHICLE CHECK IN TIME Vehicle pick-up and drop-off is between 8:00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday and between 8:00am and 2.00pm Saturday and between 9:00am and 12.00pm Sunday. Complimentary Cairns hotel or airport pick up is provided within these hours.

CHILD SEATS Capsules, Baby seats, and boosters are available upon request.

24-HOUR HELPLINE Road service 7-day-a-week.

MINIMUM DAY RENTALS Minimum rental is one day.

ONE WAY RENTALS There is no one way rentals possible with this vehicle.

DAILY HIRE CONDITIONS Calculates the hire of the vehicle on a per 24 hour day basis. For example if you collect the car at 11.30am it is due for return at 11.30am on your last day of hire.

DRIVERS A current, unconditional motor vehicle driver's licence is required which shows the driver can also drive manual transmission and this along with a credit card, must be produced on pick-up. Should a foreign licence be in a language other than English, it must be accompanied by a current International Driving Permit, issued in the same country as the foreign licence was issued, or by an accredited English translation of that foreign licence.

DRIVERS AGE The above rates are valid for drivers aged 30 -75 years.

TYRE & WINDSCREEN DAMAGE COVER An extra $11 per day for tyre and windscreen cover.

RETURN OF VEHICLE The vehicle should be returned with the same amount of petrol as when it was picked up, and should be returned by the due time to avoid a late fee. There is also no refund or part refund for early return of the vehicle unless the vehicle has a mechanical issue not casued by you. If you wish to return this vehicle to the airport there is an additional $10 charge.
