Day 1 Cairns - Thursday Island - Cape York - Seisia (D)
Transfer to Cairns airport for your flight to Thursday Island. This flight provides spectacular views of the Coral Sea, the Great Barrier Reef and the uninhabited East Coast wilderness of the Cape York Peninsula. On arrival at Thursday Island, you will be taken on an informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque harbor, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. Late afternoon ferry transfer to the mainland, where you will be met by your driver/guide, who will take you to your accommodation.
For the camping option people you will stay at Seisia which is ideally located within walking distance from the Seisia Wharf, a famous fishing spot. Your overnight accommodation for the camping option people will be in tent camping with on site toilet, shower & laundry. For the fully accommodated option people you will stay at the lovely Bamaga Resort which has resort rooms with ensuite facilities.
Day 2 Seisia - Somerset - Cape York Tip - Seisia (BLD)
An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia and celebrate with champagne and photographs. You will then visit Somerset, once the home to the legendary Jardine family and a government outpost established in 1864. Lunch will be served on the palm fringed Anchorage Beach, during the afternoon you will have time to walk this isolated beach at the top of Australia before returning to Seisia for the camping option people or the Bamaga Resort for the fully accommodated option people.
Day 3 Seisia - Fruit Bat Falls - Bramwell Station (BLD)
Southward bound, you will cross the mighty Jardine River stopping at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Here you can relax, swim and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. The afternoon will see you traveling along part of the Old Telegraph Track, before making your way to a "True Blue Aussie" cattle station - Bramwell Station. Your overnight accommodation for the camping option people will be in tent camping with on site toilet, shower & laundry. For the fully accommodated option people you will stay in cabins which have share facilities.
Day 4 Bramwell - Weipa (BD)
A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlcok River. This sees you heading for the Gulf of Carpentaria and your overnight stop at Weipa with its view over Albatross Bay. This afternoon there will be the opportunity of a 2.5 hour tour of the largest bauxite mine in the world ($25 extra) and ample time to do your laundry or stroll the town. Your overnight accommodation for the camping option people will be in tent camping with on site toilet, shower & laundry. For the fully accommodated option people you will stay at the Heritage Resort which has resort rooms with ensuite facilities.
Day 5 Weipa - Lotus Bird Lodge (BLD)
Continuing south your first stop will be the picturesque Archer River, then on to the historic frontier gold town of Coen. The afternoon finds you arriving at your overnight campsite, Lotus Bird Lodge, which is set amongst shady eucalyptus trees running the banks of a large horseshoe shaped billabong. The local environment ranges from open Eucalypt woodland and gallery forests, to grassy plains, marshlands,creeks and lagoons, providing the ideal habitat for over 200 species of birds. Your overnight accommodation for the camping option people will be in tent camping with on site toilet, shower & laundry. For the fully accommodated option people you will stay in cabins with ensuite facilities.
Day 6 Lotus Bird Lodge - Lakefield NP - Cooktown (BLD)
After an early start your 4WD will head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay where you traverse the entire length of the Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitting). This was 3 huge cattle stations which are now a National Park that is home to a many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. Traveling southwards and continuing on to Old Laura Homestead then cross the Battle Camp Range. The afternoon is spent exploring the famous gold port of Cooktown. Visit Captain Cooks landing and Grassy Hill Lookout just to name a few. Your overnight accommodation for the camping option people will be in tent camping with on site toilet, shower & laundry. For the fully accommodated option people you will stay at the famous River of Gold Resort with ensuite facilities.
Day 7 Cooktown - Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BL)
The final exciting day has, unfortunately, arrived, but before returning to Cairns you make your way south passing the mysterious Black Mountain and the historic Lions Den Hotel. Traversing the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track we see where the "rain forest meets the reef" at Cape Tribulation. Next its time to enjoy the splendor of a World Heritage listed rain forest-The Daintree National Park. A scenic drive along the Marlin Coast is a perfect way to complete your Cape York Safari. Arriving late afternoon in Cairns where you will be taken to your accommodation with memories that will last a lifetime.

Campers are given tents with a two inch high density foam mattress. You will need to bring or hire our sleeping bag ($15 per trip), pillow ($5 per trip) and optional camp bed ($6 per night).
Optional Extra Day $220 (LDB) Start your holiday one day earlier with an early morning flight from Cairns to Horn Island in Cape York. Here you will have a tour of Horn Island with entry into the World War II Museum. This nights accommodation is at the Gateway Torres Strait Resort on Horn Island. The next day a short ferry ride will take you to Thursday Island where you will meet the rest of your tour group and start Day 1 of your tour.
