Day 1 Cairns - Jowalbinna (LD)
After an early morning pick up from your accommodation your adventure begins. We begin our climb up the Great Dividing Range to Kuranda, through Mareeba to the Mareeba Tropical Savannah and Wetland Reserve. Here you enjoy a guided boat cruise on the lagoon, with its abundance of birdlife. As we continue on, we cross the legendary “River of Gold" the Palmer River. On reaching the Laura area, we stop off at the Quinkan Cultural Centre, before arriving at our camp tonight at Jowalbinna, epicenter of “Quinkan Rock Art" (ST)
Day 2 Jowalbinna - Musgrave (BLD)
Wake to a morning chorus of Kookaburras, Blue faced Honeyeaters, Red-winged Parrots, and the endemic Black-backed Butcherbird, just four of the fifty species here. Enjoy a guided tour of ancient art sites in the sandstone escarpment depicting lives and customs from the original inhabitants. After lunch we travel on the development road to Old Musgrave Telegraph Station, our overnight camp. (ST)
Day 3 Musgrave - Wenlock River (BLD)
An historic route today; old Musgrave Telegraph Station - frontier gold town, Coen, the picturesque Archer River Crossing and on to our overnight camp on the banks of the Wenlock River with its abundance of exotic birds and wildlife. (ST)
Day 4 Wenlock River - Seisia (BLD)
Travelling north through the wilderness we come to our last great natural barrier, the Jardine River. After disembarking from the ferry we stop at Bamaga and finally on to Seisia, Cape York, our camp for the next 2 nights overlooking the Torres Straits. Here, we enjoy a beachfront camp. (STL)
Day 5 Seisia - Cape York - Somerset (BLD)
An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia and celebrate with champagne and photographs. We then visit Somerset, once the home of the legendary Jardine family and lunch on palm fringed Anchorage Beach which overlooks the Albany Passage. A walk on the beach completes your day before returning to camp. (STL)
Day 6 Seisia - Thursday Island - Horn Island (BD)
An early morning departure as we cruise through island studded straits to explore our northern community, Thursday Island. Here you will be taken on a informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque Harbour, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. Ample time to explore the sites on the island, the Cultural Museum and souvenir shops, before you board your ferry to Horn Island. Accommodation tonight at the Gateway Resort ensuite facilities.
Day 7 Horn Island - Thursday Island - Seisia (BLD)
This morning you will be take on a tour of Horn Island, which includes entry to the Torres Strait Heritage Museum and a smorgasbord lunch. The afternoon is yours to enjoy, before you return to Seisia late afternoon. (STL)
Day 8 Seisia - Twin Falls (BLD)
Departing the Top End, we travel south on our return journey, stopping off to explore some WWII plane wrecks. Lunch will be at the Jardine River Old Telegraph crossing. The afternoon sees us travelling on to our camp at Twin Falls, with its enchanting waterfalls and rock pools, ‘Paradise in Cape York' (Bc+T)
Day 9 Twin Falls - Bramwell (BLD)
After a leisurely morning, we travel on to Fruit Bat Falls, where you can enjoy the view and have a refreshing swim. We the make our way to our camp for the night, a “true blue, aussie cattle station, Bramwell. (ST)
Day 10 Bramwell - Weipa (BD)
A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlock River. We head for the shores of the Gulf of Carpentaria and our overnight stop at Weipa beachfront campground, with its view over Albatross Bay. This afternoon there will be the opportunity of a tour of the largest bauxite mine in the world (own expense). (STL)
Day 11 Weipa - Iron Range National Park (BLD)
Leaving this modern town behind, we head towards the East Coast, Iron Range National Park (the largest remaining area of lowland rainforest in Australia) to find the Eclectus Parrot and the rare Palm Cockatoo. Our campsite is located on Chili Beach, where you can often enjoy the splendid sunrise over the Pacific Ocean. (Bc+T) (weather and road conditions permitting)
Day 12 Chili Beach (BLD)
Today we will explore at our leisure, Iron Range National Park, Chili Beach, and Portland Roads community, which once serviced the Gold Fields and WW II airfield. (Bc+T)
Day 13 Iron Range National Park - Archer River (BLD)
Heading back to the main road, we cross the picturesque Pascoe River before exploring the Old Wenlock Gold Fields, an abandoned mining town, showing relics of Cape York’s history. Then making our way to our campsite at picturesque Archer River. (STL)
Day 14 Archer River - Lakefield National Park (BLD)
We head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay and Lakefield National Park. An amalgamation of 3 huge cattle stations, now a haven for the many birds and animals native to the area. Lagoons, billabongs, and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. We camp the night at Kalpower Crossing (road conditions permitted). (ST)
Day 15 Lakefield National Park - Cooktown (BLD)
This morning we stop at Old Laura Homestead, before travelling on, where we step back in time when we arrive at the old gold port of Cooktown. Visit the Cooktown Museum (own expense), Captain Cooks Landing, Grassy Hill Lookout. We camp tonight in Cooktown (STL)
Day 16 Cooktown - Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BL)
We travel on, stopping off at Black Mountain and the Bloomfield Falls down the Bloomfield Track to Cape Tribulation, where the ‘rainforest meets the reef. At Cape Tribulation, where Captain Cook’s troubles began, we will enjoy a rainforest walk, before crossing the Daintree River to begin the last leg of our journey home. A scenic drive along the Marlin Coast is a perfect way to complete your Cape York Adventure. We arrive back in Cairns in the late afternoon and return you to your accommodation.

Campers are given pre erected tents with a two inch high density foam mattress. You will need to bring or hire our sleeping bag ($15 per trip), pillow ($5 per trip) and optional camp bed ($6 per night).
