Day 1 Cairns - Cape York (LD)
Sit back in your aircraft and enjoy a flight from Cairns to Cape York knowing that your Cape York tour adventure is only just beginning. On arrival at Cape York all the action starts as soon as you land with your 4 wheel drive whisking you away to the rainforest area of Lockerbie Scrub before taking a walk to the very "tip" of Australia, Cape York! Tonights accommodation will see you camping on the shores of the Torres Strait.
Day 2 Cape York Tip - Moreton (BLD)
Traveling south from Cape York your 4wd safari will head to Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. There will be plenty of time for a swim in these lovely waterfalls before packing up the 4 wheel drive and taking in some of the scenery heading south to your unique wilderness overnight camp.
Day 3 Moreton - Chili Beach (BLD)
Today is time for some exciting 4 wheel driving as weather permitting your safari vehicle will cross the Wenlock and Pascoe Rivers heading into the fabulous Iron Range National Park which is Australia's largest remaining area of tropical lowland rainforest. The area is renown for its bird and wildlife including Eclectus Parrots, Palm Cockatoos, Pythons and Cuscus to name just a few. Overnights camping is at Chili Beach on the Coral Sea's shore.
Day 4 Chili Beach - Archer River (BLD)
This morning see's you heading to the tiny outpost of Portland Roads before returning to see other secrets hidden in the Iron Range National Park. Exiting the park through Tozers Gap the safari will head on to visit the historic Batavia gold fields. After a short tour of the area followed by a little drive the tour will arrive at Archer River where camp will be set up for the night.
Day 5 Archer River - Lakefield National Park (BLD)
Rising early with the birds this morning and after breakfast the tour heads south to Coen and Musgrave then into the famous Lakefield National Park. The park is well known for its amazing waterlily covered billabongs, wildlife and bird life. Your accommodation tonight is camping in Lakefield National Park.
Day 6 Lakefield National Park - Cooktown (BLD)
On the list of things to see today are the Old Laura Homestead then a real 4wd down the old Battle camp road which was once used by the Palmer River gold rush diggers. This road will lead you into Cooktown where you can feel the atmosphere of this historical town. Climb the lookouts or just walk in the steps of Captain Cook and you explore the town. Your accommodation is in Cooktown tonight at a very nice campsite.
Day 7 Cooktown - Cairns (BL)
After bidding Cooktown good bye and a short distance later you will come across Eerie Black Mountain followed soon after by the historic Lions Den Hotel.
Trekking south you 4wd will head slowly down the Bloomfield Track into Cape Tribulation and the world heritage listed Daintree National Park. Your last Cape York tour river crossing is over the Daintree River by cable ferry before watching in awe at this pristine rainforest going by your vehicle. After a walk through the rainforest your 4 wheel drive heads south back into the real world and unfortunately putting and end to your tour however rest assured your memories of this fabulous Cape York tour will last for many years to come.
