General Conditions
INSURANCE EXCESS
The vehicle is insured and standard insurance is included in the rate. In the unlikely event of an accident an Insurance excess is payable by the hirer. For this vehicle the standard excess/bond is $4400 and a credit card bond is debited (frozen) on your credit card to the value of $4400 at the time of pick-up. This bond will be credited (unfrozen) on your credit card at the end of the hire when the vehicle is returned in an undamaged condition. You can reduce your excess/bond with either option one which for an extra $24 per day reduces the $4400 to $2200 and a credit card bond is debited (frozen) on your credit card to the value of $2200. Alternatively option two which for an extra $36 per day reduces the $4400 to $NIL and a credit card bond is debited (frozen) on your credit card to the value of $440.
A "Smart Pack" policy (option 3) can be purchased for an extra $6 per day, only after you have agreed to purchase excess reduction option two and is in addition to excess reduction two. Add $42 per day to the daily rate to include this option. Smart Pack will cover under body and over body damage, the LP Gas bottle refill and your Stamp Duty (2.5% of the total rental).
The insurance does not cover willful damage,water submersion, driving on restricted roads or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
DEPOT HOURS Seven days per week: 8:00am to 4:00pm.
VEHICLE CHECK IN TIME When you pick up or drop off a vehicle it must be according to the above depot hours.

MINIMUM DAY RENTALS PICK UP AND RETURN TO SAME DEPOT Minimum rental is 5 days.
MINIMUM DAY RENTALS BETWEEN DEPOTS Minimum rental is 7 days between Cairns and Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide. Minimum rental is 14 days between Cairns and Darwin, Alice Springs or Perth.
ONE WAY RENTALSWhere the minimum rental period is 7 days a one way fee of $220 applies. Where the minimum rental period is 14 days a one way fee of $250 applies.
DAILY HIRE CONDITIONS Calculates the hire of a vehicle on a per calendar day basis (within depot hours) ie irrespective of the time of collection or return within those hours. When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented the day of pick-up is counted as the first day of the rental. The day of drop-off is counted as the final rental day.
DRIVERS A current motor vehicle driver's licence is required and must be produced on pick-up. Should a foreign licence be in a language other than English, it must be accompanied by a current International Drivers licence.
DRIVERS AGE The minimum age for drivers is 21 years.
TYRE & WINDSCREEN DAMAGE The renter will be responsible for tyre and windscreen damage unless you have purchased excess reduction option two which covers one windscreen and two tires.
CLEANING FEE ON RETURN OF VEHICLE A cleaning fee may be charged if the vehicle is not returned in reasonable condition. Charging of such fee will be at the depot manager"s discretion.
RENTAL PAYMENTS
A 15% deposit payment will be required at the time of booking. The balance of the rental charges and security bonds must be paid in full prior to or on the day of the commencement of the rental. It is your responsibility to ensure that your credit card has sufficient funds and/or sufficiently high enough daily transaction limit. No vehicle will be released under any circumstances until the rental payment and Security Bond is paid in full. A 2.5% stamp duty/admin fee is payable on the total cost of the rental unless the smart pack insurance package is taken out. A non refundable credit card surcharge of 1.75% is charged for all Visa and Mastercard payments, and that surcharge is 4.5% for American Express credit card transactions.
ROAD RESTRICTIONS
This vehicle is allowed on recognised 4WD tracks. The is vehicle can be driven to the Cape York area so long as the road is not declared closed by the authorities due to food or erosion. The following crossings are banned in the Cape York area.... Pascoe River crossing on the Frenchman's Track and the Gunshot Creek crossing on the Old Telegraph road . Generally in wet season, from November to April there are many roads in Cape York that become impassible due to floods so the best time to travel to Cape York is May to October. Between the months of December to May, vehicles are NOT permitted to travel on the Canning Stock Route, the Lost City in Litchfield Park, to Cape
York and the Telegraph section of the road to Cape York.
