This 1 day 4WD trip from Cairns to historical Cooktown takes you through scenic North Australian coastal route. A ferry crossing of the Daintree river, drive through World Heritage Daintree Rainforest, and spectacular views of the Coral Sea and Endeavour River are all part of this 4WD Cairns Cooktown Tour.

You will travel in air conditioned 4WD vehicle via Captain Cook Highway along the coast to Cooktown, Queensland. After crossing the Daintree River by cable ferry, be taken through the Daintree Rainforest well known for many rare plant and animal species that are near extinct. This Cooktown Day Trip continues through the mysterious Black mountains via Bloomfield Track to reach Cooktown after lunch in one of the oldest Aussie Bush Pubs, the Lions Den Hotel, established in 1875. A guided visit to the James Cook museum and other historic buildings of Cooktown follows. 360 degree views of Cooktown, the Coral Sea and the Endeavour River are not to be missed by any visitor.

The return trip late in the afternoon goes through scenic Mulligan Highway with varying landscape of cattle stations, the Palmer River Goldfields, and the outback of Northern Queensland and ends in Cairns early evening. The tour is conducted on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays starting from 7.00 AM and ending at 9.30 PM. Complimentary hotel pick up and drop at Cairns is included in the package.
