Full Day Outback Savanna Woodland Birding Tour Code:FF4
This one day Outback birding tour is guided by experienced ornithologists and both amateur and professional birdwatchers can benefit from it. The bird watching tour begins at the Julatten peak and journeys through Outback / Savannah woodland. The visitors are taken through eucalyptus, riverine and wetlands of the westward flowing Mitchell River. This birding area within 100km radius in North Queensland is home to over half of Australia’s bird species.
Visitors can ride in the comfort of air conditioned 4WD vehicle in small group of 2 to 6 persons. Some of the regular sightings in this bird safari include Kori Bustards, Great Bowerbird, Black Cockatoos, Apostle Birds, Galahs, Red Winged Parrot, and many sedentary inland species. The tours are arranged on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Port Douglas. Included in the package are lunch, morning and afternoon refreshment. Binoculars, reference books and insect repellent are available for hire or purchase. The tour begins at 8.00am and ends at 5.00pm. Return transfers from Cairns are charged extra.
