Green Island is a unique 6000 year old coral cay surrounded by amazing coral gardens. This Island in Great Barrier Reef, one of Australia’s World Heritage listed sites, is home to lush green rainforest with 126 native plant species and beautiful birdlife. It is part of a protected Marine Park about 15 hectares in size and is world renowned as a tropical island paradise.
Visitors can explore the abundant underwater marine life that includes several species of fish, turtles, giant clams, eels, sponges, anemones and the like. You can indulge in nature walks in the rainforest, snorkelling, beach walk, view the underwater world via glass bottomed boats or just relax in the swimming pool.
The Green Island Great Deals trip takes the visitor to the Great Barrier Reef Island via luxurious fast air conditioned catamaran from the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal in 45 minutes time. The tour package includes return catamaran cruise, morning tea and coffee, self guided eco Island walk, plated lunch, entry to swimming pool and use of day visitor resort facilities. Visitors have a choice between glass bottomed boat coral reef viewing tour or use of snorkelling equipment. There are two trips a day from Cairns as well as from Green Island.
