Morning Half Day Bird Wildlife Safari Tour Code:FF2
This half day bird watching tour is a shorter version of the full day tour in which about 55 bird species can be spotted. Bird watching enthusiasts can encounter many birds, butterflies, and occasional marsupials in this Rainforest Bird tour.
The bird watching / wildlife safari begins with the coastal habitats and then winds its way through scenic tropical mountain rainforest to the Julatten peak (height 400m). Some of the sightings include Yellow Oriole, Red Browed Firetail Finch, Orange Footed Scrub Fowl, Rainbow Bee Eater, Yellow, Varied, Dusky and Maclaey's Honeyeaters, and Osprey, as well as butterflies and occasional small marsupial including the Red Legged Pademelon. The birding tour is arranged on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays with departure from Port Douglas at 7.30am and return at 12.30pm. Included in the package are morning refreshments, and binoculars. Reference books & insect repellent can be hired / purchased at additional cost. Return transfers to Cairns are also available at additional cost. The tour is arranged for small groups of 2 to 6 persons.
