This Rainforest and Outback Cooktown tour highlights the rock art, rainforests and outback areas the real Australian way! Help conserve the World Heritage Daintree Rainforest and endangered native Cassowary. Visit a spectacular waterfall with authentic Aboriginal guides, bushwalk to see original rock art paintings in the real outback & learn all about Cooktown's pioneering past. This is a real Austrlian outback adventure completed with campfires under the stars.

Day 1 of this tour sees you departing Cairns and making your way to the Daintree Rainforest. Visit the Australian Rainforest Foundation and help them out by assisting in their native tree recycling activities. Next on this Cooktown tour, is a trip along the 4WD only Bloomfield track. Be stunned by the beauty of the Bloomfield Falls as shown and interpreted by aboriginal guides. Stop for lunch at a beautiful riverside spot. Stop at a a classic outback hotel, the Lion's Den & visit the mysterious Black Mountain. End your day at historic Cooktown, and stay the night at the Sovereign Resort.

Day 2 of this very special Cooktown tour sees you departing Cooktown and travelling west toward the savannahs. The first stop for the day is Lakeland Downs where you can sample locally grown coffee. Continue on your journey toward Jowalbinna along a 4WD track. Stop along the way at the Quinkan Region Cultural Centre for an insight into the people of this intriguing area. Be amazed by one of the top ten rock art regions in the world & learn about the conservation efforts toward the rock art, the lifestyles & cultures of the artists. Relax with a refreshing dip in a local bush creek, and enjoy the campfire at night. Accommodation for the evening is at Jowalbinna Rock Art Safari Camp.

Day 3 of the tour sees you rising early to the bird songs of kookaburras and Blue-faced Honeyeaters amongst many more birds in Jowalbinna. A bush breakfast is followed by a relaxed morning where you can participate in activities like painting, self guided bush walks or boomerang throwing. Then head through the Australian outback in time to have lunch at a friendly Aussie roadhouse. After lunch, watch the landscape transform beef cattle grazing country & termite hills to the lush rainforests & mountains of the Great Dividing Range. You will then be returned to accommodation in Cairns or Port Douglas.

Please note that the intinerary may be reversed from time to time and the minimum age for this tour is 7 years.

Luggage space is very limited. Please limit this to one small soft travel bag (typically 300mm x 300mm x 700mm) and a small daypack (cabin baggage). A maximum weight limit of 10kg is permitted due to limitations and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
