For a spectacular aerial view of the Great Barrier Reef and the World Heritage Tropical Islands, nothing can beat the thrilling tandem skydiving in Cairns experience. The dives begin from various heights and land in white sandy Mission Beach. There are 3 skydives to choose from - 9,000, 11,000 and 14,000 ft. The free fall varies from 28 to 60 seconds and depending on the height of the jump, before you gently parachute back to earth. Achievement certificates are issued to those undertaking the 14,000 ft skydive.
These skydives are arranged from special purpose built planes and the participants are given training about safety aspects by experienced staff. The skydiving school in Cairns gives briefing at the Tully airport before departure. Persons below 14 years of age and above 100 kg in weight are not eligible to participate in this Cairns skydiving activity. To keep the memory alive for posterity, personalised video / DVD / photos while skydiving are optionally available for the 11,000 & 14,000 foot jumps. After landing on the beach, Mission Beach facilities like pool, bar etc. are offered for use for spending a leisurely afternoon (some additional costs may apply). The sky dives in Cairns are available daily starting from 8.00am and returning at 5.00pm. Complimentary pick up and drop from hotel accommodation in air conditioned coaches is provided.
