World Championship Mountain Bike Course Code:15depd
For cycling enthusiasts who would like to retrace the 1996 UCI World Mountain Bike Championship as well as the 2004 National course, this half day Cairns Mountain Bike Tour provides the best opportunity. The course passes through lush tropical rainforest and some challenging cross country and downhill tracks.
This trip on the World Championship Mountain Bike Course departs from Cairns at 9.00am and the return is at 1.00pm. The Grade 4/5 single tracks have gradients up to 30 / 50 degrees and off ratio of 5 / 50%. Riders need to be in good health and have average fitness levels. 12 years is the minimum age to participate in the tour. Optional walk sections and easy version of the tour are also available for those who can not undertake the regular version.
The package includes 24 speed real mountain bikes, helmets & gloves, free water, guide, and training if required. The participants are expected to bring protective footwear, cool clothing, and sunscreen with them. Food items for lunch and drinks available on the way have to be paid for separately. This Cairns Mountain Bike Bicycle Tour is organized on Mondays, Wednesdays Thursdays and Sundays. Complementary transfers from and to hotel accommodation are available.
