This amazing tour offers some of the best bird and wildlife viewing available. Watch from the wetlands as the water in this reserve attracts all types of animals. Identify many of the birds by the books supplied and your experienced guides information. Includes exclusive behind the scenes Reserve access and dedicated wildlife viewing. The Reserve is home to reptiles including elusive Freshwater Crocodiles, fish, birds & mammals including several mobs of Kangaroos & Wallabies. Enjoy this relaxing rainforest sightseeing tour. Your naturalist guide will take you to the best sites around the world heritage listed Wooroonooran National Park. Visit Josepehine Waterfalls and take a plunge down the natural rockslide into the water. Stop at Babinda Boulders and listen to the Aboriginal legend about its creation. Here you can snorkel with turtles and fish. Next is a crocodile farm where you watch the monsters getting fed. From 18th August, the incredible Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walkway will take place of the crocodile farm part of the tour. On to Eubenangee swamp for some bird and crocodile watching in natural surroundings. Lunch is then served in a cute little Italian restaurant. The afternoon finishes with a walk through Goldsborough Valley to Kearney's Waterfalls. This tour departs at 8.00am and returns at 6.00pm.
A day and night tour experiencing Wildlife in its' natural environment and coastal to mountain Rainforest. The trip visits many different habitats, from lowland to highland tropical Rainforest, each housing a remarkable concentration of flora and fauna. This is a great scenic tour & the best tour for seeing the widest range of native plants, mammals, reptiles & birds all in their natural environment! As a Day and Night tour covering various elevations it enables guests to truly experience the full majesty of the Rainforest. Our experienced Guides talk guests through local history, soils, geography, environment, indigenous people, plants and Wildlife. Guides help guests with spotting Wildlife. Sightings typically include many birds, some endemic, the Musky Rat Kangaroo (the smallest and most primitive kangaroo), Boyd's Forest Dragon, at dusk Australia's famous "Duck Billed" Platypus and after dinner Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo (occasionally), Lemuroid, Green and Herbert River Ringtail Possums and many other unusual mammals, insects (including Glow-worms [and luminescent fungus] - seasonal) and amphibians some found only here. Includes transfers, use of spotting equipment & books, refreshments, restaurant dinner, park fees and spotting lists. Departs daily with a minimum of 6 people (max. 11 people) at 2.00pm and returns at 11.30pm.
Your day begins with a scenic drive up the Gillies Range, overlooking breathtaking Mulgrave Valley. Enjoy morning tea at Lake Barrine Teahouse where you have the choice to take a wildlife cruise on the old volcano, go for a swim, or enjoy a rainforest walk to the massive 1,000-year-old Kauri Pines. The amazing Curtain Fig Tree will inspire a photo or two, then it's on to Millaa Millaa Falls. Lunch is taken in a cute little restaurant in a small country town. Board the famous Kuranda Scenic Rail for an unforgettable journey on this fascinating railway, which includes spectacular views over Cairns. On arrival in Kuranda take some time to explore the village, markets and art galleries. After 1.5 hours in Kuranda ride the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. This unique ride gives you a bird's eye view as you glide over 7.5 kilometres of pristine World Heritage rainforest. There are stops on the way at Barron Falls and Red Peak stations that must not be missed as they produce great photos of the falls. It's then time to board your small coach for a tour of the Northern tablelands. This is Cairns farmlands, agriculture and horticulture areas called the Atherton Tablelands.
