    This morning make your own way to Cairns Domestic Airport to meet your tour representative. Your adventure begins when you board your aircraft to fly over the Great Barrier Reef to Horn Island. Transfer by ferry to Thursday Island, capital of the Torres Strait Islands. Time now to enjoy a guided tour of the island (included).     Day 3 Telegraph Track - Fruit Bat Falls - Moreton (BLD)
    Across the mighty Jardine River then 4WD adventure and fun on the famous Telegraph Track travelling through Cape York's unique wilderness of gigantic termite mounds, crystal clear creeks, carnivorous pitcher plants and prehistoric cycads. Visit picturesque Fruit Bat Falls, a great chance to swim in its pristine spring-fed waters. On to the Wenlock River, site of the historic Moreton Telegraph Office.     Day 4 Coen - Musgrave (BLD)
    Meet some locals at classic outposts today. Cross the Wenlock River and sprawling sandbanks of the Archer River to the old gold mining town of Coen. Visit Musgrave, the century old Telegraph Station and now working cattle station before relaxing at Lotus Bird Lodge, a picturesque haven.

  • Day 1 Cairns - Thursday Island - Cape York - Seisia(D)
    Transfer to Cairns airport for your flight to Thursday Island. This flight provides spectacular views of the Coral Sea, the Great Barrier Reef and the uninhabited East Coast wilderness of the Cape York Peninsula. On arrival at Thursday Island, you will be taken on an informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque harbor, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. Late afternoon ferry transfer to the mainland, where you will be met by your driver/guide, who will take you to Seisia.     Day 2 Seisia - Somerset - Cape York Tip - Seisia (BLD)
    An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia and celebrate with champagne and photographs. You will then visit Somerset, once the home to the legendary Jardine family and a government outpost established in 1864.     Day 3 Seisia - Fruit Bat Falls - Bramwell Station (BLD)
    Southward bound, you will cross the mighty Jardine River stopping at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Here you can relax, swim and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. The afternoon will see you traveling along part of the Old Telegraph Track, before making your way to a "True Blue Aussie" cattle station (accommodated option people will sleep at Bramwell Station which has share bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlcok River. This sees you heading for the Gulf of Carpentaria and your overnight stop at Weipa with its view over Albatross Bay.     Day 5 Weipa - Musgrave (BLD)
    Continuing south your first stop will be the picturesque Archer River, then on to the historic frontier gold town of Coen. The afternoon finds you arriving at your accommodation at the Old Musgrave Telegraph Station (accommodated option people will sleep at the Station which has share bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 6 Musgrave - Lakefield NP - Cooktown (BLD)
    After an early start your 4WD will head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay where you traverse the entire length of the Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitting). capeyorktour This was 3 huge cattle stations which are now a National Park that is home to a many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. Traveling southwards and continuing on to Old Laura Homestead then cross the Battle Camp Range.     Day 7 Cooktown - Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BL)
    The final exciting day has, unfortunately, arrived, but before returning to Cairns you make your way south passing the mysterious Black Mountain and the historic Lions Den Hotel. Traversing the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track we see where the "rain forest meets the reef" at Cape Tribulation. Next its time to enjoy the splendor of a World Heritage listed rain forest-The Daintree National Park. A scenic drive along the Marlin Coast is a perfect way to complete your Cape York Safari. Arriving late afternoon in Cairns where you will be taken to your accommodation with memories that will last a lifetime.

    After an early morning pick up from your accommodation your adventure begins. We begin our climb up the Great Dividing Range to Kuranda, through Mareeba to the Mareeba Tropical Savannah and Wetland Reserve. Here you enjoy a guided boat cruise on the lagoon, with its abundance of birdlife. As we continue on, we cross the legendary “River of Gold" the Palmer River. On reaching the Laura area, we stop off at the Quinkan Cultural Centre, before arriving at our camp tonight at Jowalbinna, epicenter of “Quinkan Rock Art" (ST)

    Wake to a morning chorus of Kookaburras, Blue faced Honeyeaters, Red-winged Parrots, and the endemic Black-backed Butcherbird, just four of the fifty species here. Enjoy a guided tour of ancient art sites in the sandstone escarpment depicting lives and customs from the original inhabitants. After lunch we travel on the development road to Old Musgrave Telegraph Station, our overnight camp. (ST)

    Day 4 Wenlock River - Seisia (BLD)
    Travelling north through the wilderness we come to our last great natural barrier, the Jardine River. After disembarking from the ferry we stop at Bamaga and finally on to Seisia, Cape York, our camp for the next 2 nights overlooking the Torres Straits. Here, we enjoy a beachfront camp. (STL)

Ample time to explore the sites on the island, the Cultural Museum and souvenir shops, before you board your ferry to Horn Island. Accommodation tonight at the Gateway Resort ensuite facilities.

    Day 7 Horn Island - Thursday Island - Seisia (BLD)
    This morning you will be take on a tour of Horn Island, which includes entry to the Torres Strait Heritage Museum and a smorgasbord lunch. The afternoon is yours to enjoy, before you return to Seisia late afternoon. (STL)

    Departing the Top End, we travel south on our return journey, stopping off to explore some WWII plane wrecks. Lunch will be at the Jardine River Old Telegraph crossing.     Day 9 Twin Falls - Bramwell (BLD)
    After a leisurely morning, we travel on to Fruit Bat Falls, where you can enjoy the view and have a refreshing swim. We the make our way to our camp for the night, a “true blue, aussie cattle station, Bramwell. (ST)

    Day 10 Bramwell - Weipa (BD)
    A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlock River. We head for the shores of the Gulf of Carpentaria and our overnight stop at Weipa beachfront campground, with its view over Albatross Bay.     Day 11 Weipa  - Iron Range National Park (BLD)
    cape york 4wd tourLeaving this modern town behind, we head towards the East Coast, Iron Range National Park (the largest remaining area of lowland rainforest in Australia) to find the Eclectus Parrot and the rare Palm Cockatoo. Our campsite is located on Chili Beach, where you can often enjoy the splendid sunrise over the Pacific Ocean. (Bc+T) (weather and road conditions permitting)

    Day 12 Chili Beach (BLD)
    Today we will explore at our leisure, Iron Range National Park, Chili Beach, and Portland Roads community, which once serviced the Gold Fields and WW II airfield. (Bc+T)

    Day 13 Iron Range National Park - Archer River (BLD)
    Heading back to the main road, we cross the picturesque Pascoe River before exploring the Old Wenlock Gold Fields, an abandoned mining town, showing relics of Cape York’s history. Then making our way to our campsite at picturesque Archer River. (STL)

    Day 14 Archer River - Lakefield National Park (BLD) tour cairns cape york
    We head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay and Lakefield National Park. An amalgamation of 3 huge cattle stations, now a haven for the many birds and animals native to the area. Lagoons, billabongs, and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. We camp the night at Kalpower Crossing (road conditions permitted). (ST)

    Day 15 Lakefield National Park - Cooktown (BLD)
    This morning we stop at Old Laura Homestead, before travelling on, where we step back in time when we arrive at the old gold port of Cooktown. Visit the Cooktown Museum (own expense), Captain Cooks Landing, Grassy Hill Lookout. We camp tonight in Cooktown (STL)

    Day 16 Cooktown - Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BL)
    We travel on, stopping off at Black Mountain and the Bloomfield Falls down the Bloomfield Track to Cape Tribulation, where the ‘rainforest meets the reef. At Cape Tribulation, where Captain Cook’s troubles began, we will enjoy a rainforest walk, before crossing the Daintree River to begin the last leg of our journey home. A scenic drive along the Marlin Coast is a perfect way to complete your Cape York Adventure. We arrive back in Cairns in the late afternoon and return you to your accommodation.

    Day 5 Thursday Island Optional Day Tour (BD)
    One of the best know islands in Cape York is Thursday Island. Today, your Cape York tour offers the chance to take the ferry from the mainland to this lovely little island (own expense). The day tour includes an informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque harbor, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. Late in the afternoon the ferry will return you to Seisia. Alternatively you can enjoy your free day at leisure around the base camp with options including fishing, a scenic flight or relaxing on the beach.     Day 6 to 7 Loyalty Beach - Twin Falls (BLD)
    Southward bound, your 4WD camping tour heads for the picturesque Twin Falls, which offers one of the best waterfalls in Cape York.     Day 10 Weipa - Coen (BLD)
    A town and mine tour (extra $20) is available in the morning and well worth the money. Your 4WD safari will then head south to the country atmosphere of Coen where you have a chance in the evening to have a "Yarn" with the locals at the Exchange Hotel.     Day 11 Coen - Lakefield (BLD)

    Day 13 Cooktown - Daintree - Cairns (BL)
    After visiting Grassy Hill and viewing some of Cooktowns landmarks the 4wd heads to the notorious Black Mountain area and historic Lions Den Pub. If weather permits the tour will venture into the dense mountainous rainforest of Cedar Bay and Cape Tribulation National Park, crossing the Bloomfield River and tackle the steep Bloomfield Track. Early afternoon is spent at Cape Tribulation itself, then its onto the Daintree Ferry and a leisurely drive down the coast road arriving back in Cairns early evening with memories that will last forever.

    An early morning ferry ride will have you arriving our our northern community, Thursday Island. Here you will be taken on an informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque harbor, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet.     Day 5 Seisia - Somerset - Cape York Tip - Seisia (BLD)
    An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia and celebrate with champagne and photographs. You will then visit Somerset, once the home to the legendary Jardine family and a government outpost established in 1864. Lunch will be served on the palm fringed Anchorage Beach, during the afternoon you will have time to walk this isolated beach at the top of Australia before returning to Seisia (accommodated option people will sleep in cottages at the Seisia Holiday Park and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Southward bound, you will cross the mighty Jardine River stopping at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Here you can relax, swim and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. The afternoon will see you traveling along part of the Old Telegraph Track, before making your way to a "True Blue Aussie" cattle station (accommodated option people will sleep at Bramwell Station which has share bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 7 Bramwell - Weipa (BD)
    A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlcok River. This sees you heading for the Gulf of Carpentaria and your overnight stop at Weipa with its view over Albatross Bay. This afternoon there will be the opportunity of a 2.5 hour tour of the largest bauxite mine in the world ($25 extra) and ample time to do your laundry or stroll the town (accommodated option people will sleep at the Heritage Resort which has ensuite bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 8 Weipa - Musgrave (BLD)
    Continuing south your first stop will be the picturesque Archer River, then on to the historic frontier gold town of Coen.     Day 9 Musgrave - Lakefield NP - Cooktown (BLD)
    After an early start your 4WD will head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay where you traverse the entire length of the Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitting). This was 3 huge cattle stations which are now a National Park that is home to a many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. Traveling southwards and continuing on to Old Laura Homestead then cross the Battle Camp Range. The afternoon is spent exploring the famous gold port of Cooktown. Visit Captain Cooks landing and Grassy Hill Lookout (accommodated option people will sleep at Pam's Cabins which has share bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 10 Cooktown - Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BL)
    The final exciting day has, unfortunately, arrived, but before returning to Cairns you make your way south passing the mysterious Black Mountain and the historic Lions Den Hotel. Traversing the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track we see where the "rain forest meets the reef" at Cape Tribulation. Next its time to enjoy the splendor of a World Heritage listed rain forest-The Daintree National Park. A scenic drive along the Marlin Coast is a perfect way to complete your Cape York Safari. Arriving late afternoon in Cairns where you will be taken to your accommodation with memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Day 1 Cairns - Lakefield National Park (LD)
    Your Cairns Cape York tour starts with an early departure from Cairns over the Great Dividing Range and into "Quinkan Country" and for those with reasonable fitness plus suitable footwear a chance to climb Split Rock where you will find ancient Aboriginal Rock Art. The afternoon will find the safari arriving into the Lakefield National Park which is your overnight campsite.

    Waterlily covered billabongs, wildlife and a great variety of birdlife in Lakefield National Park this morning. Visit the historic telegraph station of Musgrave before travelling on to Coen and the Archer River. Continue on to Merluna, a remote family operated cattle station, where we camp tonight.

    Day 3 Weipa - Wenlock River (BLD)
    The township of Weipa is know for its Bauxite Mine and this morning you have a chance to tour the mine for a small additional cost. After lunch your Cape York safari will hit the tracks again in a northward direction and travel through Batavia Downs Station to your overnight camp at Moreton Telegraph Office located on Wenlock River

    Day 4 Wenlock River - Eliot (Twin/Indian Head) Falls (BLD)
    Lots of traveling today will be done in 4wd mode as the tour will have action, adventure and fun heading along the Telegraph Track. There will be some bumps and humps but also lots of sights for the cameras. Tonights camp is at the beautiful Eliot (Twin / Indian Head) Falls where there will be plenty of time before dark for a swim in the falls after a hard day on your 4wd tour.

    Rise early and experience the pleasure of the Cape York Peninsula at sunrise. You may even want to take another swim in the spring fed pools of the Eliot Falls before the tour breaks camp. Northward bound again the safari crosses the might Jardine River before arriving late in the afternoon at the top of Australia where you will set up camp on the shores of the Torres Strait for the next three nights.

    Day 6 Cape York - Cape York (BLD)
    Today is a free day to relax a little with a book on the beach of the Torres Straits or perhaps you may want to do a little bush walking. For those that are keen you can take a tropical cruise from the mainland across to Thursday Island or perhaps take in some fishing with a professional guide (both options a little extra).

    Day 7 Cape York - Cape York (BLD)
    Today is a very exciting day and a highlight of your Cape York tour as after visiting the Lockerbie Rain forest Scrubland and the township of Somerset on Albany Passage you will take an emotional walk to the very "tip" of mainland Australia - Cape York!

    Day 8 Jardine River - Fruit Bat Falls - Wenlock River (BLD) travelling cape york
    Across the mighty Jardine River we travel through Cape York's wilderness and on to Fruit Bat Falls for lunch and a swim in its pristine spring-fed waters. Continue on to our overnight camp at Moreton on the Wenlock River.

    Day 9 Iron Range National Park - Chilli Beach (BLD)
    Today we head east across the Wenlock and Pascoe Rivers to the fabulous Iron Range National Park (conditions permitting), Australia's largest remaining area of tropical lowland rainforest. The area is renown for its Eclectus Parrots, Palm Cockatoos, Magnificent Rifle Birds, Green (Condra) Pythons and Spotted Cuscus to name just a few. We camp in the rainforest or at Chili Beach.

    Day 10 Portland Roads - Batavia Gold Fields (BL)
    This morning we visit the tiny outpost of Portland Roads before returning to see other secrets hidden in the Iron Range rainforest. We leave the National Park through Tozers Gap and travel on to visit the historic Batavia gold fields. Onward to Archer River where we camp tonight.

    Day 11 Coen - Jowalbinna (BLD)
    travel cape york South to Coen then on to the historic telegraph station of Musgrave. Continue to Jowalbinna Rock Art Safari Camp, an epicentre for Quinkan Rock Art over 30,000 years old in picturesque sandstone valleys. Camp at Jowalbinna tonight.

    Day 12 Rock Art - Cooktown (BL)
    A morning rock art exploration, delving into the traditional lives of the region's first inhabitants (optional). Travel to historic Cooktown and walk where Captain Cook once walked, enjoy Grassy Hill's spectacular views and relive the gold rush days strolling past heritage buildings. We camp near Cooktown tonight.

    Day 13 Bloomfield Track - Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BL)

  • Day 1 Cairns - Horn Island - Thursday Island (LD)
    Transfer to Cairns airport for your flight to Thursday Island. This flight provides spectacular views of the Coral Sea and The Great Barrier Reef and the uninhabited East Coast wilderness of Cape York Peninsula. This day includes a tour of Horn Island, entry to the WW II Museum. You will stay the night at the Gateway Torres Strait Resort at Horn Island ensuite facilities.

    On arrival at Thursday Island, you will be taken on a informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque Harbour, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. Late afternoon ferry transfer to the mainland, where you will be met by your guide, who will take you to the Bamaga Resort, our accommodation for the next 2 nights ensuite facilities.

    Day 3 Cape York (BLD)
    An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia. We then visit Somerset (road conditions permitted), once the home of the legendary Jardine family and government outpost established in 1864. We have lunch on the palm fringed Anchorage Beach, which overlooks the Albany Passage. A walk on the beach will complete your day before returning to base ensuite facilities.

    Day 4 Cape York - Fruit Bat Falls - Bramwell Station (BLD)
    Southward bound, we cross the mighty Jardine River, stopping at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Relax, swim and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. Travelling along part of the Old Telegraph Track, before we make our way to our accommodation, a "true blue, aussie" cattle station, Bramwell Station. (share facilities)

    A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlock River. We head for the shores of the Gulf of Carpentaria and our overnight stop at Weipa, with its view over Albatross Bay. This afternoon there will be the opportunity of a tour of the largest bauxite mine in the world (own expense). Accommodation: Heritage Resort ensuite facilities.

    Day 6 Weipa - Lotus Bird Lodge (BLD)
    We continue south, stopping off at the picturesque Archer River, then on to the historic frontier gold town of Coen. The afternoon finds us arriving at our accommodation, Lotus Bird Lodge, set amongst shady eucalypts along the inner bank of a large horseshoe shaped billabong. The local environment ranges from open eucalypt woodland and gallery forests to grassy plains, marshlands, creeks and lagoons, providing the ideal habitat for over 200 species of birds.     cape york 4wd cairns tour Day 7 Lotus Bird Lodge - Lakefield National Park - Cooktown (BLD)
    After an early start, we head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay where we traverse the entire length of Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitted). An amalgamation of 3 huge cattle stations, now a haven for the many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs, and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. Travelling southwards, we continue on to Old Laura Homestead and then cross the Battle Camp Range. This afternoon we explore the old gold port of Cooktown. Visit the Cooktown, Captain Cooks Landing and the Grassy Hill Lookout. Accommodation at the Sovereign Resort in Cooktown ensuite facilities.

    Day 8 Cooktown - Cape Tribulation (BLD)
    We make our way south passing the mysterious Black Mountain and the historic Lions Den Hotel. Traversing the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track to Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef.. At Cape Tribulation, where Captain Cook's troubles began, we will enjoy a rainforest walk. Our accommodation tonight is at Cape Trib Beach House ensuite facilities.

    Day 9 Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BL)
    After a leisurely morning, we spend time exploring the wonders of Cape Tribulation, before crossing the Daintree River to begin the last leg of our journey home. Travelling south along the Marlin Coast, we stop off at Hartleys Crocodile Adventures. Here you will enjoy an informative introduction to the flora and fauna, you may have encountered in the Cape. A scenic drive along the Captain Cook Highway is a perfect way to complete your Cape York Adventure. We arrive back in Cairns in the late afternoon and return you to your accommodation.
