  • Day 1 Cairns - Cooktown (LD)
    Your Cape York tour will depart Cairns and head for the world heritage listed Daintree rainforest, Cape Tribulation and as long as the weather is fine your 4wd will head up the Bloomfield Track. During the day you can visit the quaint Lion's Den Hotel and eerie Black Mountain on the way to historic Cooktown. On arrival in Cooktown time can be spent enjoying the spectacular view from Grassy Hill lookout then walk where Captain Cook walked over 200 years ago as you explore the famous township. Tonights accommodation is in Cooktown.

    Departing Cooktown your 4wd tour will head over the ranges on the rugged Battle camp Road to Lakefield National Park's waterlily covered billabongs, wildlife and it's great variety of bird life. Enjoy lunch and an afternoon walk through parts of the National Park before settling into your accommodation at the Lotus Bird Lodge for the night.

    Day 3 Lotus Bird Lodge - Weipa (BLD)
    First stop this morning a short drive from the Lotus Bird Lodge is Musgrave, which was once a fortress Telegraph Office. Then sit back and enjoy your ride as the 4wd continues and will cross the Great Dividing Range to visit the old gold mining town of Coen. After exploring the town its on the road again to Archer River and across the Piccaninny Plains to Weipa in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Accommodation tonight is in Weipa.

    Day 4 Weipa - Moreton Station (BLD)
    This morning you have a chance to visit the famous Weipa mine which is a small additional cost however well worth it. After lunch the tour heads north again through Batavia Downs en route to the Wenlock River which is the site of the historic Moreton Telegraph Office. Accommodation tonight is at Moreton's permanent tent safari camp.

    Today will give your Cape York tour some real 4wd experiences and the tour travels along the famous Telegraph Track before stopping for lunch at one of the most picturesque waterfalls in Cape York - Fruit Bat Falls. After lunch take the opportunity for a swim in the falls before packing up the 4wd and heading for the Jardine River crossing ending the day in Bamaga. Your accommodation for the next two nights is the Bamaga Resort.

    Day 6 Bamaga - Cape York Tip (BLD)
    Today is spent exploring the Cape York Peninsula. Visit the beautiful Lockerbie Scrub which is an isolated pocket of monsoon rainforest and then onto historic Somerset. After lunch today is what everyone has been waiting for, the walk to the very tip of Australia, CAPE YORK!

    Day 7 Cape York - Cairns (B)
    An early start will see you boarding a ferry on the mainland and cruising to Thursday Island to enjoy a guided tour of the island. After lunch you will board another ferry that will take you to the airport on Horn Island to catch a flight back to Cairns ending your fascinating Cape York tour in Australia's far north.

  • Day 1 Cairns - Thursday Island - Cape York - Seisia(D)
    Transfer to Cairns airport for your flight to Thursday Island. This flight provides spectacular views of the Coral Sea, the Great Barrier Reef and the uninhabited East Coast wilderness of the Cape York Peninsula. On arrival at Thursday Island, you will be taken on an informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque harbor, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. Late afternoon ferry transfer to the mainland, where you will be met by your driver/guide, who will take you to Seisia.     Day 2 Seisia - Somerset - Cape York Tip - Seisia (BLD)
    An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia and celebrate with champagne and photographs. You will then visit Somerset, once the home to the legendary Jardine family and a government outpost established in 1864. Lunch will be served on the palm fringed Anchorage Beach, during the afternoon you will have time to walk this isolated beach at the top of Australia before returning to Seisia (accommodated option people will sleep in cottages at the Seisia Holiday Park and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 3 Seisia - Fruit Bat Falls - Bramwell Station (BLD)
    Southward bound, you will cross the mighty Jardine River stopping at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Here you can relax, swim and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. The afternoon will see you traveling along part of the Old Telegraph Track, before making your way to a "True Blue Aussie" cattle station (accommodated option people will sleep at Bramwell Station which has share bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlcok River. This sees you heading for the Gulf of Carpentaria and your overnight stop at Weipa with its view over Albatross Bay. This afternoon there will be the opportunity of a 2.5 hour tour of the largest bauxite mine in the world ($25 extra) and ample time to do your laundry or stroll the town (accommodated option people will sleep at the Heritage Resort which has ensuite bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 5 Weipa - Musgrave (BLD)
    Continuing south your first stop will be the picturesque Archer River, then on to the historic frontier gold town of Coen. The afternoon finds you arriving at your accommodation at the Old Musgrave Telegraph Station (accommodated option people will sleep at the Station which has share bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 6 Musgrave - Lakefield NP - Cooktown (BLD)
    After an early start your 4WD will head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay where you traverse the entire length of the Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitting). capeyorktour This was 3 huge cattle stations which are now a National Park that is home to a many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. Traveling southwards and continuing on to Old Laura Homestead then cross the Battle Camp Range. The afternoon is spent exploring the famous gold port of Cooktown. Visit Captain Cooks landing and Grassy Hill Lookout (accommodated option people will sleep at Pam's Cabins which has share bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 7 Cooktown - Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BL)
    The final exciting day has, unfortunately, arrived, but before returning to Cairns you make your way south passing the mysterious Black Mountain and the historic Lions Den Hotel. Traversing the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track we see where the "rain forest meets the reef" at Cape Tribulation. Next its time to enjoy the splendor of a World Heritage listed rain forest-The Daintree National Park. A scenic drive along the Marlin Coast is a perfect way to complete your Cape York Safari. Arriving late afternoon in Cairns where you will be taken to your accommodation with memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Day 1 Cairns - Hann River (LD)
    Rise and shine from your Cairns accommodation as today is the start of a fabulous Cape York Safari. After your 4 wheel drive picks you up from your Cairns accommodation the trip begins heading over the Great Dividing Range heading for the "River Of Gold" area in the Palmer River which is well known for its gold rush days. During the afternoon the tour will stop at Split Rock, famous for its high quality Aboriginal rock art then its a quick drive to Laura before arriving at your overnight camp spot on the side of the Hann River.     The 4wd will take you along a very historical route today which includes such places as the old Musgrave Telegraph Station which was the original frontier gold town. Then its off to Coen and the picturesque Archer River crossing before your tour arrives in time to set up the camp at Wenlock River. Sit back and relax on the banks of the Wenlock River as the campfire cooks and the abundant bird life and wildlife surround you in the peaceful location. (ST)

    Day 3 Wenlock River - Seisia (BLD)
    Travelling north again the four wheel drive heads through the wilderness to the natural barrier of the Jardine River. Here the 4wd will be loaded onto a ferry for the crossing and then its back to the dirt road heading for Bamaga on the Cape York Peninsula and a little further north you arrive at the township of Seisia on the banks of the Torres Straits at the top of Australia. Its all hands on deck to set up your beach front campsite before the sunsets over this magic part of the world. Seisia's beach front campsite will be your base for the next 3 nights. (STL)

    Day 4 Seisia - Thursday Island - Seisia (BD)
    Today is a free day at the top of Australia. Take this time to relax around the campsite, explore the township or read a book under the coconut trees. Optional tours are available and include catching the ferry to Thursday Island where you can join a guided bus tour or fishing with a local guide.

    Today is one of the most memorable days you will have on your Cape York tour as today you get to stand at the very "tip" of Australia where you can celebrate with champagne and photographs! Also during the day the safari will travel to Somerset, which was once the home of the legendary Jardine family. Lunch today will be on the palm fringed beach of Anchorage Beach which overlooks the Albany Passage.

    Day 6 Seisia - Twin Falls (BLD)
    Departing Cape York the adventure south begins with the first stop being the wreckage of DC3 airplanes from WWII. A short drive later will find the 4wd pulling up at the Jardine River Old Telegraph crossing. After a short walk around the outpost its back into the safari vehicle an on to Twin Falls with its enchanting rock pools and waterfalls. This is one of the most beautiful places in all of Cape York, take time for a swim before settling down to dinner on the banks of the waterfalls and its here that you will spend the night.     Day 7 Twin Falls - Bramwell (BLD)
    After a leisurely morning of water fall swimming and a walk the tour heads to Fruit Bat Falls which is another famous waterfall on Cape York. Again you will have time for a swim and lunch before heading to your overnight camp at Bramwell. Bramwell Station is a "true blue" Aussie cattle station where you can get a first hand view of the workings that bring beef to your table. (ST)

    Day 8 Bramwell - Weipa (BLD) cape york tour australia
    After breakfast its off for some more travelling through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes until you arrive at the Wenlock River. Weather permitting the 4wd can make it through the river before heading down the tracks towards the Gulf of Carpentaria and your overnight stop of Weipa. Your campsite is right on the beach front overlooking Albatross Bay and if you can move from the fabulous view in the afternoon you may wish to take the optional tour of the Weipa Bauxite mine, which incidentally is the largest of its kind in the world!     Day 9 Weipa - Iron Range National Park (BLD)
    Leaving the modern town of Weipa behind your trip will cross the top of Australia and head towards the East coast. The destination being Iron Range National Park, which is the largest remaining area of lowland rainforest in Australia. The park is filled with bird life and wildlife including the Eclectus Parrot and the rare Palm Cockatoo. Tonights campsite is at Chili Beach where you can get magnificent sunrises over the Pacific ocean if you are up early enough. (Bush camp and T)

    Day 10 Chili Beach (BLD)
    Today is an easy day of sightseeing at three different locations being the Iron Range National Park, Chili Beach and the small community of Portland Roads which once serviced the Gold Fields and acted as a WWII airfield. (Bush camp and T)

    Day 11 Iron Range National Park - Archer River (BLD)
    cape york 4wd tour Tracking back inland your adventure continues as the trip heads to the lovely Pascoe River and stops for a little exploring around the Old Wenlock Gold Fields. These gold fields were once a thriving little community but are now a mere ghost town littered with relics of Cape York history. Tonights camp is on the side of the Archer River. (STL)

    Day 12 Archer River - Lakefield National Park (BLD)
    Travelling East the safari wanders down the dirt roads towards Princess Charlotte Bay and the Lakefield National Park. The Lakefield National Park was three large cattle stations which were purchased by the Government and turned into a haven for birds and native animals that are abundant in the area. The park is full of lagoons, billabongs, and rivers that are home to both freshwater and saltwater crocodiles. The night is spent camping on the high ground at Kalpower Crossing. (ST)

    Day 13 Lakefield National Park - Cooktown (BLD)
    After your night in the bush it's time to break camp as the tour heads for the Old Laura Homestead and then on to Cooktown. The afternoon is yours to enjoy the atmosphere of this amazing township. Take a stroll down the main street knowing that Captain Cook took these very steps so many years ago. Perhaps you would like to visit the Cooktown Museum, Captain Cooks Landing and the Grassy Hill Lookout. Tonight there is no camping as you are treated to a nights accommodation in a real cabin room!

    Day 14 Cooktown - Cape Tribulation (BLD) tour cairns cape york
    After a relaxing nights accommodation you are off to the eerie looking Black Mountain and down the Bloomfield Track to the Bloomfield Falls. Take time for a "refreshing" swim in this ice cold water before heading down the 4wd track and into Cape Tribulation and the Daintree National Park. Cape Tribulation is well know as where the rainforest comes down to meet the reef. This astonishing rainforest is in pristine condition and has been listed by the world heritage organization so it can be protected for many generations to see in the future. After setting up camp at Cape Tribulation there will be ample time to take a stroll through this magnificent rainforest. (STL)

    Day 15 Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BLD)
    This morning is spent having a leisurely exploration around the Daintree National Park before putting the 4wd on a barge to cross the Daintree River. Travelling south along the coastal unfamiliar bitumen road the safari will stop at Hartley's Crocodile Adventures. Here you can have an informative introduction to the flora and fauna you may have encountered on your Cape York tour. One hour later your Cape York tour ends back in Cairns at your accommodation however your memories of this unique location will linger for every in your mind.

  • Day 1 to 3 Cairns - Sea Cargo Ship Voyage - Cape York Peninsula (All maritime meals)
    All aboard your cargo ship for an early afternoon departure from Cairns en route to the tip of Australia and the Cape York Peninsula. Enjoy the companionship of like minded people over the next two or three nights (depending on which ship/departure date you choose) aboard your boat tour as the cargo ship plies the azure waters of the Coral Sea. Over the next three or four days (depending on which ship/departure date you choose) the cargo ship will stop over at some of the remote coastal townships en route to Cape York where it will load and unload cargo.     Day 5 Thursday Island Optional Day Tour (BD)
    One of the best know islands in Cape York is Thursday Island. Today, your Cape York tour offers the chance to take the ferry from the mainland to this lovely little island (own expense). The day tour includes an informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque harbor, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. Late in the afternoon the ferry will return you to Seisia. Alternatively you can enjoy your free day at leisure around the base camp with options including fishing, a scenic flight or relaxing on the beach. Your overnight accommodation will be tent camping with on site toilets and showers.

    Day 6 to 7 Loyalty Beach - Twin Falls (BLD)
    Southward bound, your 4WD camping tour heads for the picturesque Twin Falls, which offers one of the best waterfalls in Cape York.     Day 9 Bramwell - Weipa (BLD)
    The 4wd will depart early, drive better roads and arrive in Weipa around lunch. Weipa is a pleasant contrast to the remote areas already traveled and is famous for its fishing and mine. Time this afternoon to catch up on domestic chores using the campsites amenities. Your overnight accommodation will be tent camping with on site toilets and showers.

    Day 10 Weipa - Coen (BLD)
    A town and mine tour (extra $20) is available in the morning and well worth the money. Your 4WD safari will then head south to the country atmosphere of Coen where you have a chance in the evening to have a "Yarn" with the locals at the Exchange Hotel. Your overnight accommodation will be tent camping with on site toilets and showers.

    Day 11 Coen - Lakefield (BLD)

    Day 12 Lakefield - Cooktown (BLD)
    Continuing exploring the Lakefield National Park your 4wd tour will pass the New Laura Ranger Station and visit the historic Old Laura Homestead, before crossing Battlecamp Range steeped in history of good and evil. Late in the afternoon the tour will arrive in Cooktown where there is time to enjoy the highlights of this historic town. Tonight you will dine out at one of Cooktown's best restaurants. Your overnight accommodation will be tent camping with on site toilets and showers.

    Day 13 Cooktown - Daintree - Cairns (BL)
    After visiting Grassy Hill and viewing some of Cooktowns landmarks the 4wd heads to the notorious Black Mountain area and historic Lions Den Pub. If weather permits the tour will venture into the dense mountainous rainforest of Cedar Bay and Cape Tribulation National Park, crossing the Bloomfield River and tackle the steep Bloomfield Track. Early afternoon is spent at Cape Tribulation itself, then its onto the Daintree Ferry and a leisurely drive down the coast road arriving back in Cairns early evening with memories that will last forever.

    An early morning ferry ride will have you arriving our our northern community, Thursday Island. Here you will be taken on an informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque harbor, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet.     Day 5 Seisia - Somerset - Cape York Tip - Seisia (BLD)
    An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia and celebrate with champagne and photographs. You will then visit Somerset, once the home to the legendary Jardine family and a government outpost established in 1864. Lunch will be served on the palm fringed Anchorage Beach, during the afternoon you will have time to walk this isolated beach at the top of Australia before returning to Seisia (accommodated option people will sleep in cottages at the Seisia Holiday Park and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Southward bound, you will cross the mighty Jardine River stopping at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Here you can relax, swim and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. The afternoon will see you traveling along part of the Old Telegraph Track, before making your way to a "True Blue Aussie" cattle station (accommodated option people will sleep at Bramwell Station which has share bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 7 Bramwell - Weipa (BD)
    A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlcok River. This sees you heading for the Gulf of Carpentaria and your overnight stop at Weipa with its view over Albatross Bay. This afternoon there will be the opportunity of a 2.5 hour tour of the largest bauxite mine in the world ($25 extra) and ample time to do your laundry or stroll the town (accommodated option people will sleep at the Heritage Resort which has ensuite bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 8 Weipa - Musgrave (BLD)
    Continuing south your first stop will be the picturesque Archer River, then on to the historic frontier gold town of Coen.     Day 9 Musgrave - Lakefield NP - Cooktown (BLD)
    After an early start your 4WD will head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay where you traverse the entire length of the Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitting). This was 3 huge cattle stations which are now a National Park that is home to a many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. Traveling southwards and continuing on to Old Laura Homestead then cross the Battle Camp Range. The afternoon is spent exploring the famous gold port of Cooktown. Visit Captain Cooks landing and Grassy Hill Lookout (accommodated option people will sleep at Pam's Cabins which has share bathroom facilities and camping option people will sleep in pre erected tents with on site toilet, shower & laundry).

    Day 10 Cooktown - Cape Tribulation - Cairns (BL)
    The final exciting day has, unfortunately, arrived, but before returning to Cairns you make your way south passing the mysterious Black Mountain and the historic Lions Den Hotel. Traversing the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track we see where the "rain forest meets the reef" at Cape Tribulation. Next its time to enjoy the splendor of a World Heritage listed rain forest-The Daintree National Park. A scenic drive along the Marlin Coast is a perfect way to complete your Cape York Safari. Arriving late afternoon in Cairns where you will be taken to your accommodation with memories that will last a lifetime.

Tonight you can dine out in Weipa and relax under the stars in your luxurious Weipa campgrounds.

    Day 3 Weipa - Wenlock River (BLD)
    The township of Weipa is know for its Bauxite Mine and this morning you have a chance to tour the mine for a small additional cost. After lunch your Cape York safari will hit the tracks again in a northward direction and travel through Batavia Downs Station to your overnight camp at Moreton Telegraph Office located on Wenlock River

    Day 4 Wenlock River - Eliot (Twin/Indian Head) Falls (BLD)
    Lots of traveling today will be done in 4wd mode as the tour will have action, adventure and fun heading along the Telegraph Track. There will be some bumps and humps but also lots of sights for the cameras. Tonights camp is at the beautiful Eliot (Twin / Indian Head) Falls where there will be plenty of time before dark for a swim in the falls after a hard day on your 4wd tour.

    Rise early and experience the pleasure of the Cape York Peninsula at sunrise. You may even want to take another swim in the spring fed pools of the Eliot Falls before the tour breaks camp. Northward bound again the safari crosses the might Jardine River before arriving late in the afternoon at the top of Australia where you will set up camp on the shores of the Torres Strait for the next three nights.

    Day 6 Cape York - Cape York (BLD)
    Today is a free day to relax a little with a book on the beach of the Torres Straits or perhaps you may want to do a little bush walking. For those that are keen you can take a tropical cruise from the mainland across to Thursday Island or perhaps take in some fishing with a professional guide (both options a little extra).

    Day 7 Cape York - Cape York (BLD)
    Today is a very exciting day and a highlight of your Cape York tour as after visiting the Lockerbie Rain forest Scrubland and the township of Somerset on Albany Passage you will take an emotional walk to the very "tip" of mainland Australia - Cape York!

    One more day of leisure awaits you on your Cape York Adventure before your safari stars heading south again. Use your last spare day to lounge around the campsite, visit the local township or mingle with the friendly locals who are always ready to tell you stories.

    Day 9 Cape York - Moreton TO (BLD)
    On the road again, the 4wd breaks camp and your first destination is to the lovely Fruit Bat Falls for lunch and a refreshing swim in the waterfalls. After lunch the tour will continue south into Cape York's unique wilderness to the area of Moreton TO where you will set up camp overnight.

    Day 10 Moreton TO - Chili Beach (BLD)
    Get ready for some more 4 wheel drive action as your safari attempts to cross the Wenlock and Pascoe Rivers which lead into the fantastic Iron Range National Park. Iron Range is Australia's largest remaining area of tropical lowland rainforest and is renown for its bird life and wildlife which include Eclectus, Parrots, Rifle Birds and Pythons. Your overnight accommodation is on the banks of the Coral Sea at Chili Beach.

    Day 11 Chili Beach - Archer River (BLD)
    travel cape york After awakening with the bird life from Iron Range National Park it's time to travel into the remote township of Portland Roads before travelling back into Iron Range National Park for some more wildlife spotting. Heading south again the tour will exit the park and a short time later enter the area known as the Batavia Gold Fields after the gold rush times of the 1800's. Your eventful day ends with camp being set up at Archer River tonight.

    Day 12 Archer River - Lakefield National Park (BLD)
    Sunrises early in this part of the world and after breakfast the camping tour packs up for another day of new sights on the Cape York Peninsula. Coen and Musgrave are two of the remote towns you will visit today before heading back into the Lakefield National Park to explore this time the parks area of waterlily covered billabongs. You will gaze in aware at the colors which are displayed and keep a close eye out for the other "wild life" that hide under the waterlilies. Tonight will see you camping in Lakefield National Park, well back from the billabongs!

    Day 13 Lakefield National Park - Cooktown (BLD)
    trip cape york Some more 4wd action today as the holiday group head along Battlecamp Road which was once used by the Palmer River Gold rush diggers en route from Cooktown to the Cape York Peninsula where they were going to try and make there fortune. A visit to Old Laura Homestead will also be on todays itinerary and late in the afternoon you will arrive in historic Cooktown.

    Day 14 Cooktown - Cairns (BLD)
    Rise early this morning and walk in the footsteps of the famous Captain Cook. Feel the atmosphere knowing he was in the same street all those years ago. After exploring Cooktown the 4wd will travel south past the unusual looking Black Mountain and onto the Lions Den Hotel which is along the Bloomfield Track. Early this afternoon you will arrive into one of the most prettiest places on your Cape York tour being the Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation. This world heritage listed rainforest just has to be seen to be believed, it is amazing! After crossing the Daintree River by cable barge the safari will head back towards Cairns. En route please take the time to remember some of the fascinating adventures you have had over the last 14 days and your life long memories and friends that you can take with you.

    Today is time for some exciting 4 wheel driving as weather permitting your safari vehicle will cross the Wenlock and Pascoe Rivers heading into the fabulous Iron Range National Park which is Australia's largest remaining area of tropical lowland rainforest. The area is renown for its bird and wildlife including Eclectus Parrots, Palm Cockatoos, Pythons and Cuscus to name just a few. Overnights camping is at Chili Beach on the Coral Sea's shore.

    Day 4 Chili Beach - Archer River (BLD)
    This morning see's you heading to the tiny outpost of Portland Roads before returning to see other secrets hidden in the Iron Range National Park. Exiting the park through Tozers Gap the safari will head on to visit the historic Batavia gold fields. After a short tour of the area followed by a little drive the tour will arrive at Archer River where camp will be set up for the night.

    An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia and celebrate with champagne and photographs. You will then visit Somerset, once the home to the legendary Jardine family and a government outpost established in 1864. Lunch will be served on the palm fringed Anchorage Beach, during the afternoon you will have time to walk this isolated beach at the top of Australia before returning to Seisia for the camping option people or the Bamaga Resort for the fully accommodated option people.

    Day 3 Seisia - Fruit Bat Falls - Bramwell Station (BLD)
    Southward bound, you will cross the mighty Jardine River stopping at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Here you can relax, swim and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. The afternoon will see you traveling along part of the Old Telegraph Track, before making your way to a "True Blue Aussie" cattle station - Bramwell Station. Your overnight accommodation for the camping option people will be in tent camping with on site toilet, shower & laundry. For the fully accommodated option people you will stay in cabins which have share facilities.

    Day 4 Bramwell - Weipa (BD)
    A southerly run through the wilderness with all its varied landscapes to cross the Wenlcok River. This sees you heading for the Gulf of Carpentaria and your overnight stop at Weipa with its view over Albatross Bay. This afternoon there will be the opportunity of a 2.5 hour tour of the largest bauxite mine in the world ($25 extra) and ample time to do your laundry or stroll the town. Your overnight accommodation for the camping option people will be in tent camping with on site toilet, shower & laundry. For the fully accommodated option people you will stay at the Heritage Resort which has resort rooms with ensuite facilities.

    Continuing south your first stop will be the picturesque Archer River, then on to the historic frontier gold town of Coen. The afternoon finds you arriving at your overnight campsite, Lotus Bird Lodge, which is set amongst shady eucalyptus trees running the banks of a large horseshoe shaped billabong. The local environment ranges from open Eucalypt woodland and gallery forests, to grassy plains, marshlands,creeks and lagoons, providing the ideal habitat for over 200 species of birds. Your overnight accommodation for the camping option people will be in tent camping with on site toilet, shower & laundry. For the fully accommodated option people you will stay in cabins with ensuite facilities.

    Day 6 Lotus Bird Lodge - Lakefield NP - Cooktown (BLD)
    After an early start your 4WD will head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay where you traverse the entire length of the Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitting). This was 3 huge cattle stations which are now a National Park that is home to a many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. Traveling southwards and continuing on to Old Laura Homestead then cross the Battle Camp Range. The afternoon is spent exploring the famous gold port of Cooktown. Visit Captain Cooks landing and Grassy Hill Lookout just to name a few. Your overnight accommodation for the camping option people will be in tent camping with on site toilet, shower & laundry. For the fully accommodated option people you will stay at the famous River of Gold Resort with ensuite facilities.

    The final exciting day has, unfortunately, arrived, but before returning to Cairns you make your way south passing the mysterious Black Mountain and the historic Lions Den Hotel. Traversing the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track we see where the "rain forest meets the reef" at Cape Tribulation. Next its time to enjoy the splendor of a World Heritage listed rain forest-The Daintree National Park. A scenic drive along the Marlin Coast is a perfect way to complete your Cape York Safari. Arriving late afternoon in Cairns where you will be taken to your accommodation with memories that will last a lifetime.

    Optional Extra Day $220 (LDB) Start your holiday one day earlier with an early morning flight from Cairns to Horn Island in Cape York. Here you will have a tour of Horn Island with entry into the World War II Museum. This nights accommodation is at the Gateway Torres Strait Resort on Horn Island. The next day a short ferry ride will take you to Thursday Island where you will meet the rest of your tour group and start Day 1 of your tour.

Here you will enjoy an informative introduction to the flora and fauna you may have encountered in Cape York. A further scenic drive south along the Captain Cook Highway is the perfect completion to your Cape York Adventure arriving back in Cairns late afternoon and returned to your Cairns accommodation.
