A specially crafted evening that offers you the chance to experience Tjapukai Aboriginal culture in the most powerful and personal way. From the moment you arrive, an warm evocative Aboriginal spirit vibrates through the room. Rather than simply being a member of the audience, events such as the friendly spirit welcome and the lakeside fire ceremony will ensure that you feel like a privileged participant. The evening culminates in a sumptuous 5 star dinner, complete with a performance by the World Famous Tjapukai Dancers. The Tjapukai troupe interacts with its audience, connecting with all peoples love of fun and revelling the moment where there are no cultural barriers, only joy and laughter.
The award winning Tjapukai by Night tour includes return hotel transfers from your Cairns accommodation and is a "must-do" Cairns night tour especially for overseas visitors that operates 7 nights a week from 6.30pm - 10.00pm.
This is an evening like no other! On arrival at this remote rainforest location you are given a candle. Use this to walk along a flame lit trail beneath the canopy of the oldest rainforest in the world. Listen to the sounds of the forest as you the ancient trees envelop you. Feel the wonder of this legendary place for a magical, mystical and sensual evening of rare culture, customs and cuisine. Your all-inclusive evening includes champagne on arrival, hors d'oeuvres, three-course meal, featured entertainer and all beverages. On Thursday experience an Indigenous style evening with local Aboriginal performers telling their Dreamtime story and playing the didgeridoo by the light of a bonfire. Friday will be a music showcase with a fabulous local singer and her guitar gently strumming by candlelight. Then on Saturday you will have a "surprise" performer. As this unique dining experience only operates 3 nights per week bookings are essential. The price includes all entertainment, food, drinks and return accommodation transfers.
The ultimate wildlife experience - this world-famous adventure focuses on the unique, rare and endangered wildlife of the tropical rainforest. A fully equipped off-road vehicle will take you off the beaten track through typical Australian eucalypt country - home to Platypus, Kangaroos, Quolls and rare Northern Bettongs. Then, climbing into the remote World Heritage refuge areas, you discover even more endangered creatures of the night - Green, Lemuroid and Herbert River Possums, Tree Kangaroos, Gliders, Frogs, Reptiles, Owls, Pythons and much more. After supper and stargazing, you return to reality and your accommodation around 11:30pm. This tour includes: an unforgettable search for the unique and rare marsupials and other wildlife of the tropical forests, exclusive wildlife viewing locations - including access to restricted access areas, small groups - professional wildlife guide, includes transport to and from Cairns accommodation at around 6.00pm, dinner & drinks. Operates on Wed, Fri or Sun with a minimum of two people and a maximum of ten.
Cairns Night Zoo is a great Australian night out! You are greeted and escorted to our famous Cairns Night Zoo Aussie BBQ. Enjoy a delicious dinner of steak and seafood with fresh garden salads followed by dessert. Relax with a drink from our licensed bar. After dinner our guides will provide you with a torch (flash-light) and lead you into the darkness of the Cairns Zoo to meet the creatures of the night. Learn how owls hunt, touch a possum and pat a koala. Enjoy "Billy Tea" by the campfire and hand feed the friendly kangaroos as they come to say G'Day. After some complimentary beer, wine & soft drink, join in the fun with some Aussie Bush Dancing and a sing along that is more fun than you can imagine.
