A tour to Port Douglas is not complete without a visit to this award winning attraction. This park has a fully enclosed aviary allowing you to mix with hundreds of different species of birds. Sit still at your breakfast table and you will get the chance to hand feed these beautiful creatures. This is called "Breakfast with the Birds". For those who prefer a later start there is the option of "Lunch with the Lorikeets" which is at lunch time as the name implies. Afterwards, take a walk through the property and see kangaroos, cassowaries, koalas and some crocodiles. The choice of departure times from Cairns are 7.00am, 9.00am or 10.00am. Return times from Port Douglas are 10.15am, 1.30pm, 3.00pm, 4.15pm, 5.00pm or 6.00pm. Pick ups are also available from Cairns beaches accommodation.
Set amongst 6 hectares of bush land this is the premier wildlife park in Queensland. They want visitors to interact with animals, there will be plenty of chances to get close, feel and touch many of the animals. Attractions include kangaroo feeding, a great free flight bird show, a talk by the keepers on koalas, a snake show and a crocodile presentation to name a few. This is one of the few places in Australia that you can hold a koala and have your photo taken, a "must do" while visiting us! Includes return accommodation transfers and entry to the zoo. Departs from Cairns at 10.25am. Returns from the Zoo bound for Cairns at at 2.15pm or 4.15pm.
Take a boat ride on crocodile filled Hartley's Lagoon. This unique eco-adventure set amid melaleuca wetlands shows you the natural habitats and feeding patterns of crocodile's. Here birdwatchers will spot Kingfishers, Egret and Kookaburras. Wander the 5 acres of man made boardwalks and see Cassowary Birds, Koalas, Snakes and Turtles. Join in on the Crocodile farm tour and taste some Croc meat afterwards. Watch the daring Crocodile Attack Show and then have your photo taken holding a live crocodile. Includes return accommodation transfers from Cairns & entry to Hartley's Creek Crocodile Adventures. Morning and midday departures available. Departs from Cairns at 8.45am or 11.45am. Cairns Night Zoo is a great Australian night out! You are greeted and escorted to our famous Cairns Night Zoo Aussie BBQ. Enjoy a delicious dinner of steak and seafood with fresh garden salads followed by dessert. Relax with a drink from our licensed bar. After dinner our guides will provide you with a torch (flash-light) and lead you into the darkness of the Cairns Zoo to meet the creatures of the night. Learn how owls hunt, touch a possum and pat a koala. Enjoy "Billy Tea" by the campfire and hand feed the friendly kangaroos as they come to say G'Day. After some complimentary beer, wine & soft drink, join in the fun with some Aussie Bush Dancing and a sing along that is more fun than you can imagine. The Cairns Night Zoo tour is inclusive of accommodation pick up at 6.00pm returning at 10.30pm and operates Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu and Sat.
